Amber Joseph
Auckland based artist Amber Joseph creates contemporary large scale hyper-realist oil paintings that are designed to be intentional reminders to slow down and celebrate the little things in life.
With a purposeful irony, Amber's paintings bring "the little things" to their biggest stage yet - her canvases start at 1000mm squared and only get bigger. The combination of large canvases, small subject matter, and her signature hyper-realism technique completely engulfs the viewer in the paintings, leaving them no visual space to think of anything else. In this way, Amber's work reminds us that even during difficult times, we can be mindful in our focus and attention...that gratitude is not about big actions, or grand gestures. It is the small act of appreciation, every day. |
