DIANE SCOTT
Diane Scott’s work celebrates the immediacy of movement and the power of gesture. Working with acrylic and graphite on synthetic paper, she captures spontaneous moments through bold, expressive marks that explore the interplay of image, material, and surface.
Scott's process embraces looseness and risk-taking, celebrating the physical act of painting while experimenting with scale and the tension between surface and void. This search for an “atmospheric vibration” drives her practice, producing works that reveal as much as they withhold, inviting layered and shifting interpretations. Scott holds a Master of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. Her work has been widely featured in arts publications and is held in corporate and private collections in New Zealand, the USA, and France. |
