Stephen Bradbourne creates refined glass artworks using traditional Italian techniques, blending craftsmanship with contemporary design. |
Stephen Bradbourne has worked full-time in glass since the early 1990s, developing a practice grounded in intricate decorative techniques. His work draws on traditional Italian glassblowing methods, particularly murrine mosaic and twisted cane, explored through both blown and fused forms.
He began his career in ceramics before shifting to glass after workshops in Melbourne introduced him to the demanding precision of Italian techniques. Over three decades, his work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in New Zealand and abroad. Held in public and private collections, Bradbourne’s pieces are recognised for their structure, colour, and craftsmanship. |
