Lost in Translation inhabits the uncertain territory between recognition and invention. The landscape hints at familiar forms—a volcanic island, a distant shoreline—yet refuses to settle into a specific place. Unusual colour and fragmented forms disrupt certainty, asking the viewer to navigate the space between what is seen and what is remembered. Like memory itself, the image resists exact translation. The painted frame “holds” the painting together as it threatens to dissipate .
