Clare McGlynn
Kerikeri based glass artist Clare McGlynn creates sculptural cast works that range from vessels, to charming animal characters and forms derived from the natural world. Each piece offers its own narrative, often laced with a sense of humour or conceptual twist.
McGlynn explored a number of mediums before landing on a glass focus, including drawing, printmaking, painting and clay sculpture. She became captivated by glass casting in 2014 while studying at NorthTec in Kerikeri. Clare McGlynn works from her studio in Takou Bay, Northland overlooking the beautiful Cavalli Islands. |
