Clare McGlynn creates luminous sculptural works in cast glass, exploring still life, vessels, animals and forms drawn from the natural world. Her work combines rich colour, translucency and intricate texture, transforming familiar subjects into objects with a sense of presence, playfulness and quiet intrigue.
Often incorporating a subtle humour or unexpected twist, McGlynn’s sculptures invite the viewer to look again at the ordinary. Her animal forms are expressive and characterful, while her still-life works distil everyday and organic forms into glowing, tactile compositions. McGlynn works from her studio in Takou Bay, Northland. |
