We exhibit a beautiful and ever changing selection of contemporary New Zealand painting, wall art, sculpture and glass. Our gallery is nestled in a charming historic villa in the heart of Parnell, the perfect backdrop to our contemporary art collection.

Our website represents an up-to-date catalogue of all our available works. New works arriving to the gallery are loaded onto the site within days under the relevant artist. All works listed on this website as Available can be purchased directly from the gallery, by phone or by email.

Works 'On Approval'

If you find an artwork you love but would like to see it in your space first, we offer a 24-hour 'on approval' loan period. This allows you to ensure the piece fits perfectly in your environment before making a decision.

All our artworks can be professionally packaged and shipped anywhere in New Zealand or overseas.

Secure the artwork you love with a deposit and pay the balance over time through our convenient lay-by option.

Enjoy up to 4 months to complete your payment, while we safely store the piece for you.

ART HANGING AND INSTALLATION

We are happy to assist with the hanging and installation of artworks in your home.

Whether small or large pieces, we bring extensive experience in art installation and can offer expert advice on artwork placement.

If you are after a truly unique piece to fit a particular brief, we can work with our talented group of artists to arrange a commissioned artwork.

We’re happy to offer professional restoration and conservation services to help preserve and maintain your artwork, ensuring you can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

GALLERY PLINTHS AND PEDESTALS

Elevate your artwork with a plinth or pedestal, made to your custom size. A great option for sculptural works.

We can supply you a gallery level display plinth with an elevated white painted finish.

ART FAIRS

We are pleased to showcase our collection at Art Fair events. We have a longstanding exhibition history at the Aotearoa Art Fair, so if you plan to visit the event don't forget to say hi!

ART FINANCE

Black Door Gallery can provide access to interest free loans for art purchases through My Art. Finance available for works from $1,000 - $50,000.

My Art makes it easy to acquire original art from leading New Zealand fine artists.

Contact Us for the terms of these loans or contact the provider directly.

Black Door Gallery also provides in-gallery flexible purchase options upon request.

Wedding & Gift Registry

What better way to commemorate a special event than with an original work of art purchased by loved ones. Gifts of art can have further meaning when considered as an investment piece or a family treasure that can be handed down through generations.

Black Door Gallery offers registry services that can be used for weddings or any other special occasion. A registry can be set up for a single artwork, a specific selection of artworks or an open gift voucher.

For the recipient/s, the gallery provides consultation and advise in artwork selection. For the gifters, we ensure all contributions to the registry are noted through acknowledgement cards.

A gift registry can include any medium represented at the gallery from painting, to sculpture, glass, lighting and design.
