Lee Howes
Lee Howes is a glass artist who creates works using the techniques of casting, fusing and leadlight. Howes has been working with glass for over 28 years. A confident colourist, Howes' portfolio presents vibrant colourways, while her subject matter finds inspiration in the natural environment.
Howes makes references to coastal scenery, changing environments and natural processes. Her cast pieces are reminiscent of deep structures such as glaciers, rock layers or stratum. These references are enhanced by the rich colours incorporated in the glass. Lee Howes has been selected for inclusion in the Ranamok Glass Prize, the Emerge international glass prize and the Waterhouse Science Prize. Lee has also won the Vicki Torr Memorial Glass Award twice. |
