lucy bucknall
Kerikeri based sculptor Lucy Bucknall creates sculptural work predominately in bronze. Bucknall's work frequently employs humour and anthropomorphism to explore ideas of human behaviour, social interactions and environmental concern.
Lucy’s bronze sculptures use two techniques, either the Phosphor bronze process or cast using the lost wax method. The Phospher bronze technique involves welding strips of Bronze together to create unique one-off pieces. Lucy Bucknall graduated with a BA (Hons) degree from Bath Academy of Art, UK (1987) and settled in New Zealand in 1998. Her work has appeared in solo exhibitions and collective shows throughout New Zealand including large scale presentations at Sculpture on the Gulf, Waiheke Island and Sculpture On the Shore, Auckland. |
