Auckland-based artist Rozi Demant is renowned for her exquisitely detailed surrealist paintings, where ethereal female figures, dreamlike landscapes, and symbolic animals converge to create richly layered narratives.
Drawing subtle influence from artists such as Salvador Dalí, Demant’s works often reference the sweeping Catalan-inspired vistas associated with classic surrealism, while maintaining a distinctly contemporary and feminine sensibility. Demant’s paintings explore themes of transformation, cyclicality, innocence, freedom, and human vulnerability through interconnected symbolic imagery.
