Ryan Carter

Ryan Carter is an Auckland based artist working in the medium of sculpture, with a focus on glass and resin. Carter creates arresting sculptures that play with notions of time suspension and optical illusion.

Carter's pieces can be appreciated for their elaborate process and careful execution; as well as for their final captivating dramatic 'shot'. Whether it be layers of hand-cut collage pieces lifted from magazines that form a human face, or a shattering object floating in space for our 360 degree observation- each piece encourages closer inspection and contemplation.
